Everyone knows that if you smoke cigars, you are going to need cigar humidor. Most of the time, if you let cigars dry out, you’ve got to write off your investment as a learning experience, even tho infrequently a costly one. In some cases, cigars can be refitted through weeks in a good humidor, but it’s a tricky business, and best left to someone with great patience and experience. If you insist on trying to do it yourself, proceed slowly. Over a period of one or two weeks, steadily move the cigars from the outer corners into the center of your humidor. All the other parables about the way to restore dried-out cigars are just that — legends. Remember that a cigar has many layers of tobacco. It’s tragic for the assorted layers to become moist or dry out at different rates. For example, if a cigar is placed in a hyper-moist environment, and then taken out of that moist environment, the outside dries and shrinks while the inside is still distended, and the cigar splits open. ( Not a pretty sight. ) these are some of the odderrecommendations we’ve heard. Don’t try these. EVER. Sneak them into the steam room at the club. Steam them in the higher rack of a dishwasher. Put your cigars in the bathroom and run the shower till the hot water gives out. Your best bet to keep your cigars fresh and smokable is buy investing in cigar humidor, they are totally worth it. You can get one for your home and one to travel with. Then you wouldn’t need to worry about wasting your cigars because of drying out.

What Not To Do for Fair Cigars
Thursday, April 29th, 2010What has happened to the Jamaican Stogie?
Friday, April 2nd, 2010I have smoked Macanudo Cigars for years now, and read that they originated in Jamaica. That appeared unusual becauce I can’t say I have heard much about Jamaican tobacco. Allegedly, Cuban immigrants brought tobacco seeds to Jamaica, as they did every where else they moved to. But due to hurricanes, labor issues and war, it’s been a tough road for the Jamaican tobacco plant. Macanudo, which originated in Jamaica is now handmade by General Cigar Company, located in Connecticut. They create quality, high end, premium cigars, including Macanudo. They use their own Connecticut shade wrappers, and various tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Africa for the filler and binder. These are my favourite cigars for lots of reasons, I like the sweet but spicy flavour. They’re powerful, although not overwhelming. I am able to smoke once per day and be satisfied. There are only a few known Jamaican cigars around nowadays, and they seem hard to come by. If the others taste as well as a Macanudo, I may switch, except for now I’m sticking to what I adore.
Saving For your Favorite Cigars
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010Typically a outstanding premium smoke can be rather dear. This can make it particullarly troubling to become a true fan for the typical blue-collar employee. In any case, the standing of being a real connoisseur of fine stogies shouldn’t be limited to the higher class. In brief nobody should have to lose out on a great premium cigar. Some prefer Backwoods Cigars, which are not premium, but have a superior palatte. Luckily , there are one or two guidelines to save your money when aiming to buy premium stogies. Research and techinque in purchasing can save you lots on your favorites. If you play it intelligently, you can get around the high prices. Instead of buying one smoke every two or three weeks, begin by finding the best smoke for you. Then, save for two weeks, or maybe months if the need be. After you have got a substantial sum of money put back, contact your local smoke shop. If there is not one in your area, try surrounding areas. Each gigantic city has at least one excellent smoke shop. When you have located it, talk to the owner, not the assistant. Tell the owner that you need several boxes or maybe a case of a selected brand and that if they are going to give you a price break, you will make this, and all future purchases, at their shop. Unless the owner is the stingiest person in the world, she will go for it. After you make your purchase, begin saving up again. You will often notice that you save up enough to make your next purchase before you finish off your present stash. This will keep you ahead of the game and give you the power to try new smokes. Save your Quarters, of course, this sounds ridiculous initially. However, as it seems, most people finish up losing more than 30 dollars worth of change each month. People who don’t lose it just chuck it to the side somewhere where it ends up getting lost. You are able to afford 3 decent cigars in just change. Make a studied effort to put the change away in a particular can or jar until the end of the week. You may be confounded how much you end up with. Shop Around, all too frequently we see that one stunning stogie. You know the one, the peerlessly wrapped, oily slick, dark chocolate Robusto. It is so attractive that we just have to buy it on sight. This is a large no-no. Pay attention to the premium cigar, the brand and the format. Then, go home and do a Net search and see what you come up with. Check all the discount web shops. You are almost guaranteed to find the one you are looking for at a far less price.
The Oft Neglected Cigar Pairing – Beer
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010The normal match for a good cigar is often a robust spirit – maybe the refined sweetness of an aged rum or brandy, or the heady, smoky nose of a fine single malt Scotch or whiskey are unswerving and true cigar companions. But what about the often neglected cigar pairing – beer?
Pairing any strongly flavored comestibles isn’t straightforward, and there are naturally both bad and good decisions to be made. You probably would not enjoy miami suites cigars with a crisp Hefeweizen any more than you may drink a tannic red Chianti wine with raw oysters in lemon vinaigrette. Give me that refreshing pale Hefeweizen with those oysters and that’s a good match. And if you’d like to drink that young Chianti, ignite the pasta pot and load on the Bolognese sauce. A hefty Italian dinner would also be a fine time to pop a rich deep stout with the strength to carry its own weight under the load of acidic tomatoes and savory, spicy chunks of sausage.
Honey Flavored Cigars
Wednesday, January 27th, 2010My favourite cigar is actually a gold honey corona cigar by CAO. CAO Flavored Cigars are dissimilar from any other flavored cigars out there, instead of soaking the tobacco, they use the aroma to infuse the cigar, giving it a sophisticated, enjoyable taste. Flavored cigars are perfect to hand out to my friends because you know everyone will enjoy it. Flavored cigars are also a good way to escape from the natural flavored cigars and cleanse your palatte. CAO flavored cigars are the best on the market and the quality is unequalled. I’ve always had compliments from my chums when they try them. I have attempted other sorts of cigars, but they generally tend to be tinged with too much flavour, you don’t get the tobacco flavour in any way. I like the perfect balance between honey and tobacco, that leaves just a hint on my lips. Some of my friends say they are sticking with premium cigars, but if you get the chance to try a flavored cigar, I definitely recommend the cao brand.
Who enjoys cigars?
Thursday, January 21st, 2010Pipe smoking is still popular in the United States where a cigar way of life is supported by cigar shops, bars, magazines and multiple clubs. Much like wine aficianados , cigar smokers think of themselves as connoisseurs . They may view cigars as a sophisticated , affordable luxury that represents status. Some look at cigar smoking as a sign of refinement and taste. This status is fueled in part by the efforts of the smoking industry to uplift cigars and the willingness of athletes and movie stars to be photographed and paid smoking cigars. But the proposed link between success and cigars isn’t reality. In fact, cigar use is higher among unemployed adults than in people who are employed full or part time. And college graduates are slightly less likely to smoke cigars than adults with lower education levels. In recent years, because of lower taxes, little cigars cost much less than cigarettes. This made them easier for younger smokers to afford. Sales of large cigars increased through much of the 1990s but appear to have leveled off over the last decade. The level of cigar use among teens aged 12 to 17 in 2008 was about 4%, which is higher than the level of chewing tobacco or smokeless tobacco use. In some states, more high school boys smoke cigars than cigarettes. Much of this is because of little cigars, which are often a cheaper alternative to cigarettes.
Tobacco: Facts for the typical tobacco smoker
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009The typical method of identifying cigars is by the method in which they are made. Hand Rolled Cigars are rolled by hand, while many others are manufactured by machines. The beginner smoker may be tempted to start by trying those machine made brands sold in Drug Stores, such as El Producto. However, the Novice Smoker should consider spending a few more pennies and moving up to hand rolled cigars, which are sold online or at a local smokeshop.
Heavy smokers Vs Connoisseurs
MostIndividual cigar smokers have their own unique tastes, and have their own individual financial constraints. Those who are smoking multiple cigars per day may need an “everyday” cigar that is less expensive. Therefore, the taste and cost of machine made cigars can be very attractive to some smokers. However, to the aspiring or experienced connoisseurs, the ones who enjoy an occasional cigar as a special treat, the hand rolled cigar is worth every penny.
